Fred Corbett
|
After watching the excellent Walter Tull documentary on BBC2 recently about one of the first black footballers from early 1900’s, I had no idea that West Ham’s first black player was Fred Corbett.
Fred born in West Ham, played for Thames Ironworks and West Ham between 1899-1901. There doesn’t seem to be much acknowledgement of his achievements by the club.
